Summary
CVE-2024-50272 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel where an infinite loop can be triggered in the filemap_read() function. This occurs when a caller provides an iocb->ki_pos value near the filesystem upper limit and an iterator with a count causing an overflow, resulting in an infinite loop. This issue was discovered during testing of xfstests with localio optimization for loopback NFS mounts.
