Summary
CVE-2024-50189: A vulnerability has been identified and addressed in the Linux kernel. The issue involved handling of ignorable code points in Unicode. Instead of treating these code points separately, the kernel should now allow them to decompose or casefold to themselves, eliminating the need for special handling. This change improves the kernel's security by reducing potential vulnerabilities related to the handling of these specific code points.
