Summary

CVE-2024-49200: A critical vulnerability affects Insyde InsydeH2O's AcpiS3SaveDxe and ChipsetSvcDxe components with kernel versions 5.2 through 5.7. An attacker can exploit a DXE memory corruption issue, caused by a pointer originating from an NVRAM variable, for arbitrary writes that could potentially lead to code execution. This issue has been resolved in the updated kernel versions: 05.29.44 for kernel 5.2, 05.38.44 for kernel 5.3, 05.46.44 for kernel 5.4, 05.54.44 for kernel 5.5, 05.61.44 for kernel 5.6, and 05.70.44 for kernel 5.7.
