Summary
CVE-2024-49124 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Clients. Hackers can exploit this Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability to gain unauthorized access and run malicious code on affected systems. Successful exploitation occurs when the LDAP client processes a specially crafted message, leading to a buffer overflow condition. Systems using vulnerable LDAP clients are at risk of compromise. It is recommended that users update their LDAP client software to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
