Summary
CVE-2024-47877 is a vulnerability affecting the Extract Go library, which is used to extract archives in zip, tar.gz, or tar.bz2 formats. Maliciously crafted archives can create symlinks outside the extraction target directory, enabling attackers to potentially gain unauthorized access or manipulate data. This issue is resolved in version 4.0.0. Users of the Extractor.FS interface must upgrade and implement new methods for compatibility.
