CVE-2024-47820

Summary

CVE-2024-47820 is a path traversal vulnerability affecting version 2.4.7 and below of MarkUs, a web application used for student assignment submission and grading. This issue allows authenticated instructors to download any file on the server, depending on the file permissions. The vulnerability has been mitigated in version 2.4.8. There are currently no known workarounds for this issue aside from upgrading to the latest version. Instructors are urged to apply the patch as soon as possible to prevent potential data breaches.
