Summary

CVE-2024-47610 is a vulnerability affecting InvenTree, an Open Source Inventory Management System. Maliciously crafted markdown notes, stored by a registered user, can contain JavaScript code that is executed when other logged-in users visit the same page. The vulnerability is addressed in versions 0.16.5 and later, through the implementation of HTML sanitization in the front-end markdown rendering library (easymde) and backend validation of stored markdown. Users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible, as no workarounds are available.
