Summary
CVE-2024-47529 is a vulnerability affecting OpenC3 COSMOS, an open-source solution for managing and sending commands to embedded systems. The issue arises due to the unencrypted storage of user passwords in the LocalStorage of a web browser. This makes these credentials susceptible to exfiltration via Cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks (as described in GHSL-2024-128). This vulnerability is resolved in version 5.19.0. However, it pertains exclusively to the open-source edition, leaving the enterprise edition unaffected.
