Summary
CVE-2024-47196 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting ModelSim versions below V2024.3 and Questa versions below V2024.3. The issue lies in vsimk.exe, which allows a specific TCL file to be loaded from the current working directory. An authenticated local attacker can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary code when vsimk.exe is launched from a user-writable directory. This could potentially lead to privilege escalation in affected installations.
