Summary

CVE-2024-45746 is a vulnerability affecting Trusted Firmware-M versions up to 2.1.0. The issue lies in the lack of validation for user-controlled mailbox messages, which contain pointers to input and output argument lists. These pointers are not checked, and after a PSA call, the length of the output arguments behind the unvalidated pointer is updated. This allows an attacker to write arbitrary data to memory, potentially leading to remote code execution within the secure firmware, enabling control flow hijacking.
