Summary

CVE-2024-45734 is a vulnerability affecting Splunk Enterprise versions 9.3.0, 9.2.3, and 9.1.6. A low-privileged user, without holding the "admin" or "power" roles, can export images from the system by utilizing the PDF export feature in Splunk classic dashboards. These images, located on the Splunk Enterprise machine, can be exposed through the vulnerability by inserting local image paths in the XML code of the Splunk classic dashboard. This issue poses a potential security risk as unauthorized users could access sensitive images residing on the affected system.
