Summary

CVE-2024-45397 is a vulnerability affecting the h2o HTTP server that supports HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2, and HTTP/3. When using IP-address-based access control and receiving an HTTP request with TLS/1.3 early data or QUIC 0-RTT packets, the server fails to detect and block requests from spoofed source addresses. This issue permits attackers on the network to execute HTTP requests from forbidden IP addresses, bypassing the access control mechanism. The vulnerability has been rectified in commit 15ed15a. As a temporary mitigation, users can disable the use of TCP FastOpen and QUIC.
