Details
Summary
CVE-2024-45289 is a vulnerability affecting the fetch(3) library. The issue lies in the use of environment variables for passing certain information, specifically the revocation file pathname. The fetch(1) command incorrectly names the environment variable, leading the library to disregard the option. Consequently, the library continues to connect to a host presenting a certificate included in the revocation file passed via the --crl option. This vulnerability could potentially allow man-in-the-middle attacks, making it crucial for users to update their systems as soon as a patch becomes available.
