Summary
CVE-2024-43562 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Windows Network Address Translation (NAT) feature. This issue allows an attacker to initiate a denial-of-service (DoS) attack by sending specially crafted packets to a targeted system. Successful exploitation results in the NAT service becoming unresponsive, causing network connectivity disruptions. The attacker can potentially saturate the affected system and exhaust its resources, making it inaccessible to legitimate users. Microsoft is currently working on a patch to address this vulnerability. Until then, it is recommended to apply network security controls to mitigate potential DoS attacks.
