Summary

CVE-2024-42331 is a use-after-free vulnerability affecting the es_browser_ctor method in the src/libs/zbxembed/browser.c file of a specific software. This function retrieves a heap pointer from the Duktape JavaScript engine, which is later utilized by the browser_push_error method in src/libs/zbxembed/browser_error.c. If the wd->browser heap pointer is inadvertently freed by garbage collection, a use-after-free condition arises, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or memory corruption. This issue could be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access or execute malicious code within the affected system.
