Summary

CVE-2024-41665 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions prior to 6.6.0 of Ampache, a web-based audio/video streaming application and file manager. This issue is located in the "Playlists - Democratic - Configure Democratic Playlist" functionality, which can be exploited by an attacker with Content Manager permissions. By setting the Name field to `<svg onload=alert(8)>`, they can inject malicious code into the system. When any administrator or user accesses the `democratic.php` file, they will be vulnerable to this stored XSS attack. The attacker can then steal the cookies of the affected user or administrator. Version 6.6.0 includes a patch to resolve this vulnerability.
