Summary
CVE-2024-40740 is a newly disclosed cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting netbox v4.0.3. Attackers can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious web scripts or HTML into the Name parameter of the /dcim/power-feeds/{id}/edit/ endpoint. Successful exploitation could lead to unintended execution of attacker-supplied code in the context of the affected user, potentially stealing sensitive data or taking control of the user's session.
