Summary
CVE-2024-40728 is a newly disclosed cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting netbox v4.0.3. With this flaw, attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts or HTML code into the Name parameter of the console-server-ports/{id}/edit/ page. Successful exploitation may allow the attacker to steal sensitive information, modify data, or gain unauthorized access to user sessions. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of netbox to mitigate this risk.
