Summary

CVE-2024-4023 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting flatpressblog/flatpress version 1.3. When a user uploads a file with a `.xsig` extension, the server mistakenly responds with a Content-type of application/octet-stream, treating the file as an HTML document. This allows an attacker to inject and execute arbitrary JavaScript code, potentially stealing user cookies, performing HTTP requests, and accessing content of the same origin. Users are advised to upgrade to a patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
