Summary
CVE-2024-37360 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server. The software fails to neutralize user-controllable input, allowing a malicious URL to inject content into the Analyzer plugin interface. This issue, identified as CWE-79, can lead to the transfer of private information, including session cookies, from the victim's machine to the attacker. Malicious requests on behalf of the victim could also be sent to a web site, potentially posing a threat to the site, particularly if the victim has administrator privileges. Prior versions 10.2.0.0 and 9.3.0.9, including 8.3.x, are vulnerable to this issue.
