Summary
CVE-2024-34662 is a new vulnerability affecting select versions of Android 12, 13, and Android 14. The issue lies in the ActivityManager component, which suffers from improper access control. This flaw enables local attackers to execute privileged behaviors without proper authorization, posing a significant security risk. Before the SMR Oct-2024 Release 1 patch for Android 12, 13, and the Sep-2024 Release 1 patch for Android 14, attackers with local access could exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated privileges.
