Details
Summary
CVE-2024-3250 is a vulnerability affecting Canonical's Pebble service manager before version 1.10.2. The read-file API and pebble pull command, when Pebble is running as root, allow unprivileged local users to access files with root-equivalent permissions due to insufficient access control checks. This issue poses a significant risk to system security and confidentiality. Canonical has released fixes as backports to older versions, including v1.1.1, v1.4.2, and v1.7.4, to mitigate the vulnerability. Users are strongly encouraged to install these updates promptly.
