Summary
CVE-2024-26202 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Server Services. Hackers can exploit this Remote Code Execution (RCE) weakness to gain unauthorized access to affected systems. An attacker sends maliciously crafted DHCP option packets to the target network, which, when processed by the vulnerable DHCP server, results in the execution of arbitrary code on the server. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to organizations, as it can be exploited over the network without requiring user interaction. To mitigate this threat, administrators are advised to apply relevant patches or updates to their DHCP servers as soon as possible.
