Summary
CVE-2024-25590 is a newly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerability that allows attackers to publish malicious Resource Record Sets (RRSets) in a zone. Repeated processing and caching of these RRSets can result in a denial of service (DoS) attack. The vulnerability arises from the way certain DNS servers handle and cache these RRSets. Attackers can exploit this weakness to cause the servers to consume excessive resources, leading to service disruption. Organizations using affected DNS servers should apply patches as soon as they become available to mitigate this risk.
