Summary
CVE-2024-23690 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Netgear FVS336Gv2 and FVS336Gv3 devices. These end-of-life models are susceptible to a command injection vulnerability residing in their Telnet interface. An attacker, with authentication and remote access, can exploit this flaw by crafting specific "util backup_configuration" commands, thereby gaining the ability to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges.
