Summary

CVE-2024-20470 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business RV340, RV340W, RV345, and RV345P Dual WAN Gigabit VPN Routers. An authenticated, remote attacker with valid admin credentials can exploit this issue by sending crafted HTTP input to an affected device. The root cause is the interface's insufficient validation of user-supplied input, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution on the underlying operating system with root privileges. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in significant compromise of affected networks.
