Summary

CVE-2024-13901 is a DOM-Based Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability affecting the "Counter Box: Add Engaging Countdowns, Timers & Counters to Your WordPress Site" plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 2.0.6, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin, enabling authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary web scripts. execution occurs whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability only impacts multi-site installations and those where unfiltered_html has been disabled.
