Summary
CVE-2024-13700 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Embed Swagger UI plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 1.0.0, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes of the plugin's 'wpsgui' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above can inject arbitrary web scripts, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to steal user data or take control of user sessions. It is highly recommended that users immediately update their Embed Swagger UI plugin to a patched version to mitigate this threat.
