Summary

CVE-2024-13588 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Simplebooklet PDF Viewer and Embedder plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.1.0, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into pages via the plugin's 'simplebooklet' shortcode. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin are the root causes of this vulnerability. Exploitation results in the execution of arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an infected page.
