CVE-2024-13576

Summary

CVE-2024-13576 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Gumlet Video plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.0.3, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'gumlet' shortcode. As a result, any page containing an injected shortcode will execute the malicious script whenever a user accesses it. This poses a significant security risk, as attackers can leverage this vulnerability to steal sensitive information or perform actions on behalf of the user.
