Summary

CVE-2024-13527 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Philantro – Donations and Donor Management plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 5.3, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The XSS vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's shortcodes, including 'donate'. As a result, whenever a user accesses an injected page, the malicious script executes.
