Details
Summary
CVE-2024-13466 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Automatically Hierarchic Categories in Menu plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 2.0.7, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the 'autocategorymenu' shortcode's user-supplied attributes. These scripts are then executed whenever an affected page is accessed, potentially leading to unintended website behavior or data theft. The root cause is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping by the plugin.
