Summary
CVE-2024-13402 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Buddyboss Platform plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 2.7.70, allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the ‘link_title’ parameter, which enables the attacker to store and execute their code whenever a user accesses an injected page. This poses a significant security risk as it can lead to data theft, website defacement, and potential unauthorized access.
