CVE-2024-13401

Summary

CVE-2024-13401 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Payment Button for PayPal plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the plugin's 'wp_paypal_checkout' shortcode, which does not properly sanitize and escape user-supplied attributes. This weakness allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts into pages. These scripts will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. Versions of the plugin up to, and including, 1.2.3.35 are vulnerable to this exploit.
