Summary

CVE-2024-13398 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Checkout for PayPal plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.0.32 are susceptible to this issue. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'checkout_for_paypal' shortcode. Malicious actors, requiring contributor-level access or higher, can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever an unsuspecting user accesses a compromised page, posing a significant security risk.
