Summary

CVE-2024-13333 is a vulnerability affecting the Advanced File Manager plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the 'fma_local_file_system' function, which fails to validate file types in versions 5.2.12 to 5.2.13. As a consequence, authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and upload permissions can upload arbitrary files onto the server. This vulnerability may potentially lead to remote code execution, provided the "Display .htaccess?" setting is enabled. WordPress users running affected versions are advised to update the plugin as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
