Summary

CVE-2024-12701 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP Smart Import plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.1.2 are impacted by this issue. Attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages by exploiting insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the ‘page’ parameter. This vulnerability enables unauthenticated attackers to execute malicious code, potentially leading to data theft or website defacement, if users are lured into performing a specific action such as clicking on a malicious link.
