Summary

CVE-2024-12699 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Service Box plugin for WordPress. This issue, which exists in all versions up to 1.9, allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into pages. These scripts will then execute whenever a user visits an injected page, potentially leading to unintended actions or data leaks. The root cause of this vulnerability is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin. Upgrading to a patched version is strongly recommended to mitigate this risk.
