Summary

CVE-2024-12699 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Service Box plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 1.9, arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Consequently, authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This poses a significant security risk, as the scripts can steal user data, perform unauthorized actions, or even take complete control of the affected WordPress site.
