Summary

CVE-2024-12673 is a recently disclosed privilege escalation vulnerability affecting Lenovo Vantage on select SMB notebook devices. Specifically, an error in the BIOS customization feature allows local attackers to gain elevated system privileges. Affected models include the Lenovo V Series (Gen 5), ThinkBook 14 (Gen 6, 7), ThinkBook 16 (Gen 6, 7), and ThinkPad E Series (Gen 1). This issue grants attackers the ability to execute arbitrary code and manipulate system settings, posing a significant security risk.
