Summary
CVE-2024-12591 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the MagicPost plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.2.1, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's wb_share_social shortcode. As a result, whenever a user accesses an infected page, the injected scripts will execute, potentially leading to unintended actions or data exposure.
