CVE-2024-12579

Summary

CVE-2024-12579 is a vulnerability affecting the Minify HTML plugin for WordPress. This issue allows unauthenticated attackers to submit specially crafted comments that can cause catastrophic backtracking during the plugin's regular expression processing. The result is a Denial of Service (DoS) attack, making pages unavailable. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 2.1.10. WordPress users are advised to update the plugin as soon as a patch is available to mitigate this risk.
