Summary

CVE-2024-12574 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the SVG Shortcode plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.0.1 are vulnerable to this issue. Attackers can exploit this weakness by uploading malicious SVG files, which are not properly sanitized or escaped. As a result, unauthenticated assailants can inject arbitrary web scripts that execute whenever a user views the affected SVG file, potentially leading to significant security risks.
