Summary

CVE-2024-12499 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP jQuery DataTable plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 4.0.1, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'wp_jdt' shortcode. Consequently, any page with an injected shortcode will execute the malicious scripts whenever a user accesses it.
