Summary
CVE-2024-12466 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Proofreading plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 1.2.1.1, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Consequently, unauthenticated attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages by tricking users into performing specific actions, such as clicking on a malicious link.
