CVE-2024-12464

Summary

CVE-2024-12464 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Chatroll Live Chat plugin for WordPress. The flaw, present in versions 2.5.0 and below, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the 'chatroll' shortcode. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes lead to this vulnerability. Successful exploitation enables the attacker to execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page.
