Summary

CVE-2024-12445 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the RightMessage WP plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 0.9.7, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts into the plugin's 'rm_area' shortcode. These scripts will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. The root cause is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes.
