CVE-2024-12439

Summary

CVE-2024-12439 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Marketplace Items plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 1.5.5, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'marketplace' shortcode. As a result, any page containing an injected shortcode will execute the attacker's scripts whenever a user accesses that page.
