Summary
CVE-2024-12387 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the binary-husky/gpt_academic repository. A maliciously crafted zip file can cause the server to crash by overwhelming its memory during the decompression process. This issue stems from insufficient input validation when handling compressed file uploads in the affected repository, commit git 3890467. An attacker can exploit this flaw to trigger an out-of-memory condition, potentially leading to a denial-of-service scenario.
