Summary

CVE-2024-12221 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Turnkey bbPress plugin by WeaverTheme for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.6.3 are susceptible to this issue, which stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the ‘_wpnonce’ parameter. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts and tricking users into performing a malicious action, such as clicking on a malicious link. This could potentially allow the attacker to gain control of a user's browser session or steal sensitive information.
