Summary

CVE-2024-12208 is a vulnerability affecting the Backup and Restore WordPress plugin. Versions up to 1.50 of this plugin are susceptible to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). This issue arises due to a lack of proper nonce validation in the ajax_queue_manual_backup() function. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can trigger backups by deceiving site administrators into executing a forged request, potentially leading to unwanted data manipulation or exfiltration. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
